Our Story
Miami String Haus began as a small passion project rooted in a love for music and a dedication to the string community. Founder Charles Winters started out as a double bass instructor and consultant, visiting schools and mentoring students across South Florida. Over time, his vision grew into a boutique workshop — lovingly called “the Haus” — where musicians could find instruments built and maintained with care.
Today, Miami String Haus represents a blend of artistry and precision, offering fine instruments, expert repairs, and personalized service for players at every stage.

Behind Miami String Haus is the husband-and-wife team Charles and Katrina Winters, whose shared passion for music and craftsmanship has shaped the heart of the business. Charles brings decades of experience as a luthier and performer, ensuring each instrument meets the highest standards of playability and tone. Katrina guides the brand’s vision, customer experience, and community outreach, helping connect musicians across South Florida and beyond.
Together, they’ve built a space where musicians feel supported, inspired, and at home.

The Winters are the kindest most considerate string shop owners I have met. Each person on their staff operates at a high level with attention to every detail when addressing your string needs. They provide excellent rentals and can accommodate any stringed instrument request, I highly recommend them!
Just got a bridge adjustment and endpin fitted on my cello and the work took just about an hour and a half. Allen took care of me and did an absolutely wonderful job. He’s is very kind and knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what he does. Great shop, a little pricey but you get what you pay for. Job was done excellently
Write some content about what they are saying about your Allen and Aviel were so nice and thought us so much I didn’t know about my violin! They have a list of teachers that they can give you if you ask! I am definitely coming back once I’m ready for a better violin!.
This is the only quality shop that I trust in Miami. I have already been to two other shops, and the quality of the instruments, selection, and instruction for private lessons does not compare to Miami String Haus. Don't bother with any other stores for Orchestral instruments. Charlie is also good with setting up Electric Basses as well.
Fantastic Place. The staff are very welcoming and answer every question you have. Their instruments are beautiful and beyond worth the price. They think of the musician first and your money second. Definitely coming back for more.
